- The
Vanderbilt Police Department manages the Vandy Vans
escort system. The Vandy Vans system provides vehicular
escorts to designated areas on campus. The service
consists of vans that operate from 5:00 p.m. to
5:00 a.m. on a daily basis. The vans run the following
four routes:
The
Main Route makes a continuous
loop around campus every 30 minutes making stops
at Vanderbilt
Police Department, Branscomb
Quad, Carmichael
Towers, Kissam
Quad, Terrace
Place Garage, Wesley
Place Garage, North
Hall, Blair
School, Highland
Quad, and McGugin
Center.
The
Express Route stops at Branscomb
Quad, Carmichael
Towers, Kissam
Quad, North
Hall, and Highland
Quad.
The
Commons Route stops at Branscomb
Quad, Carmichael
Towers, Ingram
Hall, Crawford
Hall, and Highland
Quad.
The
Direct Route, which operates
on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, stops at
North
Hall and Branscomb
Quad.
Walking
Escort Service
As
a supplement to Vandy Vans, Vanderbilt Police
Department provides walking escorts to students,
faculty, and staff walking to and from any location
on campus during the nighttime hours. The telephone
number to call for a walking escort is (615) 421-8888
(cell phone) or 1-8888 (on campus).
